Finding the perfect fit can sometimes be tricky, especially since there are a lot of men’s styles out there. Nevertheless, there are some general rules that you can follow so that you always have clothes that make you look good. We’re going to talk about this, and help you pick clothes that fit you, no matter if we’re talking about jeans, designer t-shirts, shirts or coats.
Finding a t-shirt that will fit you is quite easy. You need to make sure that the seam that links the sleeve to the body of the tee starts right at your armpit and goes straight up. If this doesn’t happen, it means that the shirt is either too small for you, or too large.
At the same time, the length needs to be appropriate. As a rule of the thumb, if you can see your abdomen when you raise your hands up into the air, then the t-shirt is too short. When it comes to maximum length, make sure that it doesn’t cover your behind completely, or that it stays on your waist but creases awkwardly.
Let’s talk about shirts. Just like t-shirts, they need to fall right on your shoulders, so the same seam rule applies. However, shirts need to fit even better, which means that they should be a bit tight around your chest, and on your sides, they should go straight, or follow your lines. Make sure that the sleeve is the right length – it should end where you thumb starts.
When it comes to jeans, these are tricky. First of all, there are jeans that are looser and jeans that are tighter. However, no matter what mens style you have and what you prefer, for a pair of jeans and pants in general, to fit you right, you need to look at the waist.
Basically, you need to be able to put one or two fingers between the jeans and the skin. Too much means that the jeans are too large, to little means that they’re too tight. The length of the jeans is also tricky. The best thing is to try them on without any shoes, and they should end right at the sole of your feet. This way, when you put your shoes on, they’ll look really nice and natural.
